Thank you for sharing this.

I confess I do not comprehend what you mean by pre painting your paper? That is beyond me.

Hey David! Thanks :) for pre painted papers, I simply prep a base colour on my sketchbook pages edge to edge, using a layer of acrylic - this gives me some colour and texture to work into, which means I need to carry less materials for colour variety & makes it less daunting to get drawing ✍️

As someone who lives in a cold climate, I tend to prefer the studio in winter. That said, I so admire those of you who draw and paint outside in winter!

As long as I’ve had the heater on for a little while, I love it too ❄️

An excellent list Orla, and just what I use down here on the south coast even if its a lot milder than what you get! My only additions are something to sit on, I have a posh one from Moorswood, and also a larger one made by my friend. May I also introduce you to core warmers, or as they are known in Japan, haramaki. They are excellent, its amazing how much keeping your core warm helps. I wear mine after swimming, when I'm painting as well as outdoor sketching. My friend runs nukunuku.co.uk and I have throughly 'tested' most of them!

haha I think the warmer the better, right? I don't think my summer kit is all that different to this set up, sadly 😊 Great point - I tend to use my backpack but having something more comfortable is a great idea. Oh wow, I've never heard of those, will have to get my hands on some!
